Some of the special services offered through Metropolitan Methodist Hospital include:

Health Bus
. . . provides free rides to patients who have difficulty with transportation. Service is provided to Metropolitan Methodist Hospital, any of its facilities, and to doctors on the medical staff at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital. Health Bus is wheelchair accessible and serves patients in the following zip codes: 78201, 78202, 78203, 78204, 78205, 78207, 78208, 78209, 78210, 78212, 78215, 78225, 78226, 78234, 78237 and parts of 78213, 78216, 78218, 78219, 78220, 78222, and 78223. For more information on Health Bus, call (210) 377-4884. Spanish speaking operators and drivers are available.

Inpatient Gero-Psych Unit
. . . offers an inpatient psychiatric program to meet the unique needs of older adults. A professional program of individual counseling, group therapy, coordinated activities, and family therapy provides older adults the emotional, medical, and psychiatric support they need to return to healthy living.

The Post Surgery Pain Management Program
. . . gives patients an alternative approach to control pain after certain types of surgeries to help improve overall comfort and recovery.

The Rehabilitation Center
. . . at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital offers specialized care for patients recovering from strokes, hip fractures, traumatic brain injuries, amputations and a variety of other conditions. Newly constructed, this 10-private room, handicapped accessible inpatient unit includes a fully-equipped rehab gym, an activities of daily living (ADL) training apartment and a patient dining room. A therapy pool and rehability garden are currently under construction to further enhance patient recovery activities.

The Sleep Evaluation Center
. . . conducts a variety of studies using the latest diagnostic medical equipment to assist physicians in the evaluation and treatment of patients with sleep disorders.

Women's Pavilion
. . . designed with a separate entrance and registration area providing easy access for patints and their family members. Offering a full range of maternity services that include:

  • 16 Labor/Delivery/Recovery Rooms
  • 7-bed Antepartum Unit
  • 5-bed Triage Unit
  • Operating Rooms and Recovery Rooms

After delivery you will be transfered to a spacious room in the Mother and Baby Unit. Newly remodeled, we have increased our space from 10 to 48 new, spacious rooms to provide a comfortable place for you and your baby. Our nurses help you learn more about your baby and assist you in feeding, bathing and any additional care your baby may need during your stay. If you choose to breastfeed, we have certified lactation consultants on staff who will provide you with breastfeeding support and instruction seven days a week. In addition, there is an in-house television channel offering newborn education programs 24-hours a day.
